Jagat Sinkha, president of United Trade Union Coordination Center, has said that no worker can survive in Kathmandu on a salary of 17,300 rupees.
In the two-day National Labor and Employment Conference, 2081, held in Kathmandu on Monday, Sinkha said that even the unranked employees of Nepal government are getting 24,000 rupees while the workers' salary is only 17,000 rupees.
'No laborer can live in Kathmandu on 17 thousand 300 rupees, even a dog raised in an employer's house eats food for more than that,' he said, 'Isn't the life of a laborer worth it today? Unranked employees of the Nepal government get a salary of 24,000 rupees. And the salary of workers is only 17,000 why?'
He said that his demand should be increased not in the salary but in the salary of the workers. How has the employer become a billionaire from a millionaire in one year, how has billions of capital been added? It is necessary for the state to be serious about this,'' he said, 'but the salary of the workers should not increase. The employer did not take the positive .'
Industries are running and industrial peace, said Sinkhada, is the peace before the storm. He said that salary increase, full implementation of social security and anti-labour clauses in the Labor Act should be amended. He said that all the trade unions will move forward as a unit in the service charges of the hotel sector and the bad works of the bank and financial sector.
The more social security, the more labor flexibility, but he said that the rights contained in the Labor Act 2048 were also frustrated from 2074. "For the Social Security Fund workers, there is a situation like no matter where they are," he said.
He said that in the labor market which is in a state of chaos, there may be a situation where the hotel factory is closed due to lack of workers in the future.
