Economic Affairs and Planning Minister of Wagmati Province, Kundanraj Kafle has said that there is a problem in collecting taxes in the state because the federal government does not enact laws.

Speaking on the first session of 'Chitwan Chintan' organized by Kantipur Media Group in Chitwan on Thursday, Minister Kafle said that taxes were allowed only on agriculture. "The right to collect taxes has been given to the agricultural sector," he said. The people are the ones who are affected, so there is no situation to go to the houses of the farmers to collect taxes. Minister Kafle claimed that Wagmati is ahead of other provinces in terms of capital expenditure.

"In the last fiscal year, this province has spent 72 percent of capital expenditure," he said, "We have monitored the state's proud projects and seen how the expenditure is being done, which is why the development expenditure is good."

He claims that the expenditure percentage will increase in the current financial year as the structures of the province are being improved. He said that agriculture should be placed first, industry second and service third.
