Anjan Shrestha, Acting President of the Federation of Nepal Chamber of Commerce and Industry, has emphasized that the government's policy and commitment should be clear to bring in foreign direct investment (FDI) in Nepal.

Udyogi Shrestha made this statement at the 'Kantipur Chitwan Chintan' program organized by Kantipur Media Group on Thursday.

'When talking about FDI, FDI goes wherever it is comfortable . The state should consider this matter,' he said, 'because investors will look at the policy on FDI . He wants to invest in the country which is easy.'

He said that it is not easy to bring in investment in Nepal because the policies of Nepal are not clear and the leadership keeps changing. For this, the government has tried to bring in investments recently, but the results have been zero, he said.

'Our commitments are not clear . When the investment conference was held, we met with the secretaries of the government and discussed which laws to amend,'' he says. When saying that, he makes a commitment to the private sector. What will happen if the agreement is broken? The state's commitment to bring investment should be clear.'
