Agriculture and Livestock Development Minister Ram Nath Adhikari has assured that the government will now turn milk into powder to end the long-standing problem of 'milk holidays' in Nepal's agricultural sector. Especially in the months of August and October, it will be difficult for traders to avoid the situation of not taking milk from the farmers due to the increase in milk, but he said that in the coming days, he is going to adopt measures to focus on powdered milk.
In the 'Chitwan Chintan: Chitwan's strength, possibilities, problems and solutions' program organized by Kantipur Media Group on Thursday, the minister said that he is serious about not having a milk holiday. Speaking in the second session of the
program, "Kisan's issue at the center of agriculture", he said, "Until now, we have not been able to do the work of taking milk from farmers and using it as powder if it is not sold". I want to assure people here, the government is planning to move forward by turning milk into powdered milk so that there will be no milk holiday. ; There will be an increase in milk from August to October, we will be able to handle as much as we need. After the situation, there is a situation of not taking milk from the farmers,' he said, 'There is a compulsion to go on a milk holiday.' So sorry. "How much support will I get for what I said?" He said, "I have held such a ministry." But the Ministry of Agriculture is aware that such weakness and bullying do not happen in the future.'
Chitwan has been producing 3 lakh 50 thousand milk daily. There are 40 thousand farmers in milk production business and 110 milk cooperatives.
