The problem behind Gautam Buddha International Airport being fully constructed and not being able to operate effectively is who will do what, rather than politics. This happened because the policy makers of the country did not have the will to work. This airport is the result of everyone gossiping but not working.

The issue of airport operation has been raised since I was the Chief Minister, it has been 11 months since I left the Chief Minister. We have discussed with the Prime Minister, everyone concerned, but who will do it? There is no question of the Prime Minister himself running the airport, others don't care . The finance minister comes to Bhairahawa and repeats his own speech, not repeating the speech, he has to work.

The first responsibility to operate the airport after building it is the Nepal Civil Aviation Authority. I would like to ask him how many people the director general of the authority called and discussed this matter. He comes to the place called and talks sweetly. But by talking sweetly, the airport will not run, nor will the development here .

It has been said that the finance minister is from this region, and the prime minister is also positive. If everyone is positive, who has stopped them from bringing the airport into full operation from tomorrow? Who has stopped the immigration (department) from coming here, who has stopped the health examination of those going for foreign employment, who has stopped the foreign ministry from issuing visas ?

The cabinet has also made a decision regarding the operation of the airport. If the decision of the Council of Ministers is not implemented, then we will know how this country is going. After investing in building the airport, the authority's first responsibility is to operate it. How much effort did the director general of the authority have to operate, raise investment or pay the debt ? Then after the Prime Minister took responsibility, how much did the Chief Secretary follow up on this ? If the secretaries were called and given instructions, the flight would start from tomorrow. The airport will operate only after the environment of talking and not working ends.

The matter of running the airport and nothing else is in the hands of the province. Neither this airport recognizes the province, nor the Lumbini Development Fund recognizes the province . The province is nowhere. Now Baisakh Purnima is coming, the Prime Minister comes to Lumbini, a meeting is held, everyone is sent away after having breakfast. Neither the local residents, nor the province, nor the local government have been able to connect with the fund and the airport. On Baisakh Purnima, on Buddha's birthday, a big event could have been organized by inviting Buddhist pilgrims from all over the world and local, but it does not happen.

Can we connect Bhairahawa with Dhangadhi, Dang, Rukum airports or not? We are talking a lot about foreign countries, but local tourists can come enough. We have not been able to connect it with Bardia National Park, Swargadwari, there is enough work to be done inside. However, everything collides with the Prime Minister, the Union. The province has been made fragile.

Lumbini has many things to add . The first thing is to connect with the common people here . Not only Buddhists, many Hindus also want to come to Lumbini. 18 Nobel Prize winners tried to come here . 200 investors tried to come along with them, but we could not bring them. Nothing will happen until the end of the situation of the central government, which does not give up its authority even if it gives up its authority.

(Thoughts expressed by Chaudhary, former chief minister of Lumbini Province, in the third session of the interactive program on 'Lumbini's Power', 'Lumbini's Call, International Flight')
