The army has started the initial work of laying belay bridges on the bridge connecting Sindhuli-Ramechhap, which was washed away by the flood of Sunkosi river. According to the army, preliminary work has started for traffic operation by constructing Belibreeze bridge due to the 51 meter drift towards Ramechhap.

51 meters of the 100 meters long bridge of the Sunkosi River, which was built 10 years ago and connects Khurkot of Sindhuli's Golajjor Rural Municipality-7 and Manthali Municipality-6 of Ramechhap, has been swept away by the flood.

According to the army technician, all the materials required for Belibreeze arrived by Monday evening and if the weather permits, the connection work will start from Tuesday morning.

'The main stuff has arrived. Since the small equipment will arrive by Monday night, the work will start from Tuesday,' said Army Technical Major Chiranjeevi Choulagain, 'now the work of installing lights is going on, we are working at night and trying to be able to work till the day before Dasain Tika.'

According to him, all the equipment needed to increase the speed of work is being connected and managed. The Bridge Division of Channel No. 14, involved in the construction of belibridges, is conducting a technical check on whether the pillars of Pari Ramechhapatf Betini can be used or not.

Under the pillar towards Ramechhap, the work of supporting the road by filling with wire netting has been carried out. Using a rafting motorboat, army technicians crossed the Sunkosi river and checked the pillars towards Ramechhap.

The construction of the washed road that supports the pillar will be done by the road division. This bridge over the Sunkosi River proved to be a boon for BP Highway and Madhyapahari Highway to connect parts of Ramechhap, Dolakha, Solukhumbu and Okhaldhunga with Terai. Locals are hopeful that after Belibreeze is operational, vehicles will be able to cross the bridge to celebrate Dasain.
