The well-known name of Nepali essay is Roshan Sherchan. He is writing essays with caution and his essays 'Death of Brain', 'Champaran Blues', 'Dhobighat Express' and 'Galli Sansar' have been published.

He prefers to discuss the environment in his essays and travels to different places. Roshan says - You should take rest during the journey, but you should not take a break from the journey. An edited part of the 'five questions' asked about book reading with Sherchan is presented here.

What was the last book you read?

The book I read recently is Khagendra Lamichhane's novel 'Phurke'. Currently reading Naomi Klein's non-fiction This Changes Everything . I found 'Furke' interesting. It is based on the dog's autobiography . The story is written from a dog's point of view. Lamichhane has presented the story of the struggle of grass and bamboo in the city after its owner sold it in an interesting manner.

In 'This Changes Everything', climate change has two sides: science and politics. In this book, the aspect of politics rather than science is analyzed in depth and in detail . I'm halfway through this book now . Reading the remaining part .

Do you like fiction ?

Some of my favorite fictions include Dhruvachandra Gautam's 'Alikhit', Dhanushchandra Gautam's (Dh. Cha Gautame) 'Ghamka Paila', Narayan Dhakal's 'Pretakalpa', and Nayanraj Pandey's 'Ular' . If we talk about foreign books, I like Ivan Turgenev's "Fathers and Sons". In 'Ghamka Payala', the environment of Terai-Madhesh has been strongly presented .

In 'Pretakalpa', the story of power structure during Rana period is depicted. In 'Fathers and Sons', the story of fighting with prevailing and influential principles in the society is shown .

Your favorite non-fiction ? There are many

s. Ramesh Bhusal's recently read book 'Chalbato' can be taken as an example. The 45-day journey from Tibet to Gandak, India is very interesting. Another favorite of mine is 'San County Ellamaniak' by ecologist Aldo Leopold, which is an environmental book. As I am a student of environment, I found this book very interesting. Talking about

non-fiction, there is also the book 'History before history' by anthropologist Suresh Dhakal. I also like Malcolm Gladwell's work . 'Blink' and 'The Tipping Point' are both works of non-fiction that I like.

Is there a recent book you haven't read?

Sudhir Sharma's two books 'Monks, Business and Rebellion: Nepal's Vote-China Relations and India' and 'Himalpariko Huri: Changing Nepal-China Relations after the Republic' are on my list . But could not read .  Dr. The novel 'Savirni' written by Sridhar Khanal is also in the list.

What kind of book do you inspire the new generation to read?

I say the new generation has no choice but to read . Read the physical book. Now there is also an audio book. As much as possible, you should read what is written about your interest and sometimes even to know your interest. Interest after reading  happens And read accordingly. Interest is also known after reading. The new generation should go through easy books.

than the new generation I mean under 30 years old. You can start with 'Ular'. In the essay, one can start with books like Khagendra Sangraula's 'Afnai Aakhako Layama', 'Samjhanaka Kuinettaharu'. Poignant in terms of language, strong in terms of speech. If it is from a philosophical point of view, it can be started from the 'madness' of Sarubhakti . If we start with poetry, we start with the poetry of Shravan Mukarung and Abhay Shrestha. Holding a physical book and reading does not seem like a digital book.
