Due to the incessant rain since Thursday night, there has been major damage to the road infrastructure across the country. On the eve of Dasain, the roads have been washed away by floods, and the concrete bridge connecting the districts has been washed away and the streets are closed.

The most damage was done in the Nepaltok section of the BP highway. Where more than one kilometer of road has flowed through various sections. As a result, the traffic in this section is stopped .

Initial damage details have come. Something is on the way . So far, according to the preliminary details, the damage to the roads and bridges due to the flood is 2.52 billion rupees. This is an initial loss with construction costs . 5 fixed bridges and 2 belay bridges have been damaged due to floods. 

How is the work being done to open the blocked road ?   

Now the work is being done only to bring the road into operation . Additional work requires budget. For that, a budget should be requested from the Ministry of Finance. We do not have a separate source . The landslides in different sections have been removed and the roads have been opened to make travel easier. Preparations are being made to place a belay bridge at the place where the bridge was washed away. This also requires a budget. 

How will the road infrastructure be made easy by Dasain?

If the work can be done quickly without rain, all the roads can be operated within a week at most . Where machines are found . We have done the work of removing landslides by using it . Landslide removal machines have been put in readiness on the main highways. If the weather is favorable, it will not be a problem to bring all the roads into operation in a two-way manner .

Road has washed away in many places of BP highway, this road will be operational before Dasain? 

This highway has problems in many places. A team with technicians from the road department has gone to Bhakundebensi and reached the problem area. Where is the problem? The team will look at everything . There are many problems in various sections from Bhakundebesi to Nepalthok. Where the road has been washed away, as soon as the water of the Roshi river recedes, the road will be made temporarily by placing gravel from the river.
