'I plan to travel all over Nepal after paying off my debt'

My first wish is to earn money, pay off my house loan and become ‘tension-free’. If that happens, I feel like I will have fulfilled my desires and needs. I love to travel. I am working on setting a goal for six/seven years. Then I will probably visit Nepal.

There is no difference between working and eating for the day. I woke up in the morning, started working. I worked all day, returned in the evening and slept with my family.

I live in ward number 8 of Dhangadhi Municipality. Since I was given the responsibility of earning money from a young age, I could not continue my studies before grade 12. I was not very diligent in studying again. That is why I could not study properly. At this time, the responsibility of earning money was added.

Now I sell vegetables at Trinagar Haat Bazaar in Dhangadhi. On days when the vegetable business is good, I earn 2500 to 3000 rupees. I am now 23 years old. I have a mother, sister and brother at home. Only my brother and I are the earners. There is no father. That is why we have had to take care of the household from a young age. Now I sell vegetables at Trinagar Haat Bazaar in Dhangadhi. On days when the vegetable business is good, I earn 2500 to 3000 rupees. Even on days with low sales, I earn around 1500. If we consider the profit after separating the investment made when buying vegetables in the morning, I earn 6-700 per day.

However, when we built a house, we took out a loan from the cooperative. Now, we have to pay the same loan in monthly installments. After paying, we will have to pay around 500,000 rupees. A little is spent on my mother's medicine. My health is still good. As long as I work, the household expenses are fine. That's why I can't quit work. If I quit work, I will have financial problems.

Sometimes, when there is a financial crisis, I have to manage money from here and there. In such a situation, it feels a little awkward. This problem arises when paying high installments. You have to manage by borrowing from your grandparents. You don't have to buy rice and wheat. Rice and wheat produced in your own fields are enough to eat. You spend more money on things like oil, salt, soap, and surf.

My first wish is to earn money and pay off the house loan and become 'tension-free'. If that happens, I feel like I will fulfill my desires and needs. My biggest wish is to travel all over Nepal. I really like traveling. I have set a goal for six/seven years and am working on it. Then I will probably visit Nepal. Another wish is to buy a motorcycle. Buying a bike is not a big deal. After buying it, there is also the matter of how to maintain the bike. Maintaining it is more difficult than buying such a vehicle.

The biggest worry is debt. Sometimes the worry of debt weighs heavily on my mind. At such times, I talk to my mother. Sometimes I tell my mother, ‘Let’s sell the land and pay off the debt, then the tension will be over.’ I worry a lot about my mother’s health. ‘Last time’ I was very happy when my mother’s sugar level decreased.

The saddest thing was when I went to Kuwait. I returned from Kuwait within eight months. I earned good money but the company did not do well. It was not just me, we went together with 14 people. We all returned after the company did not satisfy us. We faced a lot of problems while in Kuwait. Two of my friends were even jailed. Now I don’t want to go abroad. I need at least 3 lakh rupees to go to another country. Now I don’t even think of going abroad with that much money.
