Nowadays, people praise people who make a living with their skills. This was not the case before. Those who could do nothing would act like they were working as a carpenter. Because our ancestors did this profession, I didn't have to go to extremes to learn the skill of a carpenter.

I have been learning this work since I could understand it. I have been doing the work of the aran since I knew that it is possible to do this and that not to do it. On the one hand, I have preserved the knowledge and skills of my parents. On the other hand, I am also managing the household expenses with the income from this. I sit in the hut of the old man and run the aran.

I have spent my entire life doing this work. I am not tired yet. In my old age, the aran has become a friend. I am now 75 years old. It has been 65 years since I started doing this work. In such a long time, many changes have occurred in the village. The era has changed before me. Time is not like it used to be. Now, there are not many people who rely on the aran. New tools have come into the market.

If you do this job well, you can earn 25-30 thousand per month. Since you also do farming, you don't have to struggle to make a living. I have been making the work of the aran my main profession. I don't even realize how much time has passed while doing this work. Whatever happens, I raised two sons and two daughters from the income I earned from running the rice mill. I taught them to read and write and also helped them get married. I feel happy when I remember that.

When I was a farmer, I had to make iron tools all year round with 15-16 pathi of grain per household. That would have been enough. My brothers and nephews are still working in the farmer's field. I quit in 2075 BS. I quit that job because there was no one to carry the grain to my house. I couldn't carry the grain myself by going around the village.

Now I have been making things for money. I have also prepared some tools and taken them to the market for sale. Most people come to my house to order. I mainly make axes, axes, spades, sickles, and flails. That is why I have been supporting my family. If I do this job well, I earn 25-30 thousand per month. Since I also do farming, I have not had to struggle to make a living.

I have to buy coal for the plow and iron to make tools. It costs money to buy wood for the sickle. I have been buying iron from the markets of Hile and Pakhribas. Sattisal and kandan wood are needed for the sickle of khukuri and hasiya. Earlier, buffalo horns were also used for the sickle of khukuri.

I have the enthusiasm to do it for some time because I have been doing it since childhood. My wife (wife) Bachumaya also helps me with the work. Sometimes I also hire a farmhand. My grandson (daughter's son) Virat also helps.

I lost my grandson when he was young, so I am raising him at home by myself. I have also been teaching him. My grandson is currently studying in grade 11. Since he is a neighbor of former Prime Minister Surya Bahadur Thapa, he used to make tools for Thapa's work. I remember him coming to my house many times.
