”Not a single rupee is saved for the future”

He lives in Boudikali Rural Municipality-6, Naram. I am now 51 years old. Household expenses are running from amriso planted in the fields. All day long, I am busy in Pakhera by mixing amriso and ginger. After the amriso is ready, I cut it and dry it and then I make chucho. My wife also helps me in my work. There is no way to earn other than this. Along with amriso, ginger cultivation is also being done.

After cutting and drying, you have to go to the headquarters Kawasoti and nearby markets to sell the pieces prepared from Amriso. If it was sold in the village, the car would not have to be rented. Again, sorrow brought it to the market and it has to be sold cheaply to the big traders. Now, instead of taking a loss and giving it to the merchant, I will go to the house and start selling it myself. You have to travel 50 km to reach Kawasoti market from home.

Until the age of 40/45, he used to carry heavy loads and reach the market on foot. Now the old age is approaching . Can't walk with a heavy load. I put it in the bus and take it to the market. There are about 35 ropanis of land with Bhirpakho. However, no grain is grown at all. First, the khoriya was split. I applied amriso and ginger as the grain was not produced. A lot of land is barren now . Even if there is land, it is very difficult to manage expenses. I raised three sons and one daughter by selling amriso. Now the daughter is married. Two sons have come down to Kawasoti to work for wages.

Children could not be educated well due to poverty. Even if the sons are grown up, they have to take care of the household expenses themselves. We have made a living no matter what we eat, sweet or not. However, as the old age approaches, the problem of how to treat the illness is bothering. Not even a single rupee has been saved for the future. That's why we have prayed to God that we don't get a big disease. I sell one piece for one hundred rupees . I had sold 700 pieces last year . Apart from that, I have also repaired broken nails.

I could make only 500 chuchos this year . I can't work like before. Income is decreasing every year . You have to go from village to village to sell kucho and stay in Kawasoti for about a week. I used to stay in the room of my relatives and sons when going down to Kawasoti. There is a lack of funds for hotel accommodation and food.

I buy rice, dal, salt, oil and essential goods from the headquarters and take them home with the money I earn. By selling amriso and ginger, the income is around 1 lakh in a year . With this money, I have been covering my household expenses in the midst of suffering, hardship and lack. Now, if the sons can earn money by working well, they can save the amount of their work and income for medical treatment in their old age .

Even though I have endured suffering and suffering, I want my children not to lack normal things . It was also a big dream of mine to work when I was young, to earn money and sell it to Baama. However, my life started to go in this phase. But, now I don't have any big wishes and desires. Although there is no desire to go to the city or build a solid house, they want their sons to live in the market rather than in the village.

We are interested in the mountains. The society is very friendly even though it is difficult in terms of work and finances. Everyone supports each other in their sorrows . Even if I go to the market for 2-4 days to sell small items, my mind is scared. It seems like we will return home after selling quickly. The village where Zindagi lives is very lovely. However, when you are sick, you can't go to the market for shopping when you can't drive for months because of the roads in the rain, and it feels a little uncomfortable.
