It has been 28 years since he started drawing Mithila Art (paintings). Now I am 54 years old. My life is dedicated to Mithila art and art. It not only made me happy but also made my life colorful.

My ancestral home is in Janakpur-12, Kuva. There is a daughter and two sons but now we are only husband and wife at home. Daughter is married. Husband does farming . I am supporting my household expenses by drawing Mithila pictures .

I go to office after eating in the morning . Coming back from working all day . Now people from other districts come to me to make pictures.

The eldest son opened a private school in the village and became the principal. Younger son is studying BBA . Even if the school earns two lakhs per month, the rent of the building and the salaries of the employees are enough. The younger son is also earning by doing small jobs. Selling paintings sometimes earned up to two thousand . Sometimes it was five thousand. I remember earning five hundred in the beginning .

My grandmother and mother were also connoisseurs of Mithila art, which gave me the energy to venture into this field . In the beginning, he used to question what he would earn by making pictures. But I could not back down. It is difficult to earn by making pictures only. Earnings have decreased since the corona epidemic. It would be better if the government looked at women like us. Despite raising our voices many times, the government does not listen to us. I don't remember that the local level did much to encourage and encourage.

In society, the idea that women can do anything is prevalent. If you have to listen to this many times, your ears will also ring . However, she did not lose her courage . I couldn't read it but I want my son to have the name . The pictures I made have reached many districts. Maybe because I learned it from my ancestors - I get feedback that the art I make is different from others . I draw based on signs such as rich people flying in ships and farmers planting rice in the fields when it rains.

For this reason, the interest in Mithila painting increased . I started learning the traditional style and its presentation. I gained a deep knowledge of this art from a local woman . I began to understand the story depicted in each painting, the meaning of the colors used and its cultural significance. The more I immersed myself in this art, the more I began to see my future in it.

Sometimes I feel how far I would have reached if I had been able to read . Grandmother, mother used to say, 'The more we pay attention to work, the easier life will be.' The people of the village used to come to see the picture saying how the life, culture and nature of Mithila is.  Audhi likes to play with lines and colors from

Kuchi . A local merchant is very proud and happy when he buys his paintings and 'now these paintings have to be sent to the city'. It also gives more encouragement to Mithila painting.

Economic deprivation and social criticism never tired me . Rather, each challenge is making them stronger . I understand very well that if self-belief and hard work are strengthened, no obstacle will come in the way. It is easy to dream, but it takes a lot of hard work and patience to fulfill them . I think I can use my dreams and art for society. I didn't want my family to know about the pain I experienced. Love and inner determination didn't let me lose heart . I consider suffering as a source of inspiration. Sadness is also reflected in my paintings . Which helps to be emotional while drawing .

I'm happy . My son reached the headmaster today because of his grief. Children's happiness is more motivation for me . I am giving this message to the society that don't panic because of suffering. What is the benefit of living with greed in your heart? No matter what I did, I managed the expenses . A vision of the future is not limited to personal success . I want the importance of art to increase in Nepali society.
