There is no folk music in Nepal anywhere in the world. There are other characteristics of that country. Folk music is our country. There is diversity in our country. Rai, Limbu, Gurung, Magar, your community should not forget their weapons.

Growing up in Calikot, he had a special fondness for folk music from his childhood. Mother used to sing too. I had the opportunity to observe the war from close quarters. It was my dream to reach Kathmandu and do music. Study was good. That's why I was afraid that I would not get a job tomorrow if I went into music so that my studies would deteriorate.
Therefore, the fear of having to complete the studies remained. The family also brought him up that way . I came to Kathmandu and concentrated on my studies. I got into music only after my graduation.
I was born in Calikot, so I became closer to the Deuda and folk culture there. Mother also used to dance Deuda . Grew up watching that . Everyone used to sing in school. By the time I reached class 10, many people said that I would become a singer. However, we all know how this society views singing. The importance of art is still not well understood by our society. That's why I thought that I should take up music only after becoming strong in some other field . So I came a little late to music.
In the year 2070, I studied Mathematics and Sociology at Khwap College in Bhaktapur. At that time, I got a chance to work at Jansanchar FM in Bhaktapur. I like to speak, so I started speaking on the radio. As he studied mathematics, he used to teach tuition in that subject, and that became the source of his livelihood. At the same time, he released a ghazal book called 'Sirani'. I am especially a ghazal writer. An earthquake happened while studying for graduation. And after the earthquake, I joined 'Teach for Nepal'. Teach for Nepal sends graduates in English, Science and Mathematics to villages.
From 2018 to 2016, I taught in Tamang Basti called Simle in South Lalitpur for 2 years . I also used music to help students understand mathematics easily. I started writing articles while teaching maths to children . Since Shilapatra, my articles have been published on some platforms .
After spending 2 years there, I was drawn to music and media. I ran an education program on Sagarmatha Television, but could not do satisfactory work . After working there for a year, I went to Tulsipur in Dang to train mathematics teachers. In the meantime I thought, I am in the wrong place . Where is the person who should write and sing teaching? That thing started burning my heart . It seemed that the inner mind should say the lacks and challenges through music . But, I was walking in a different direction. After that, I worked in music, but I vowed not to take an NGO job.
is the song that I brought to the market at the beginning, 'Yo Shiksha kasto ho .' Due to his background in education, the song was made into music about the problems that are happening in the educational sector . It was advocated that the current education has become certificate-oriented and not skill-oriented. We read Mao, we read Gandhi, but that kind of education does not make a fundamental difference in life . This current education is not necessary, education should be connected with life. We don't need education to forget our background, we need education to know our roots.
then released a song titled 'Homework'. Then through 'Oi Suwa', 'Rupasya Jovan', 'Chamkide Chand', 'Desh Bakhkene Larko', 'Hirulal' and now I reached 'Jadau Hajar' . 'Hirulal' is my mother's story . The world seen by the mother, the story of foreigners and the effect of the Internet on Karnali are shown. We went to Karnali to shoot that song so that we could tell a social picture, a story of love. We showed the youth's disappointment in leaving the country . If you want to tell the story of Karnali. The pain of the youth and the current generation has been expressed through that song. If you mean, keep your words with respect and speak politely . We have tried through you to listen to the issues of Karnali road, women, medicine and migration in the state agencies.
We are rejected by modernity . The current generation tries to be modern, but they have forgotten their 'roots'. I used to like easy music very much back in the day . Now my choice has changed . Only then do you become different in front of the world, something you have, they don't have . If you do the same thing that others are doing, there is nothing new in it . Looking back, what is it about me that makes me different from others? That is Deuda .
The folk music of Karnali, its cultural dress, its rhythm is my own. Maybe my grandfather can't sing in the same rhythm. But, I realized that I can express those feelings, those words in my own way . I belong to a place, which is not in any other world . There is no other place in Nepal. The story of that place, reaching that depth, I am expressing Karnali through music .
Working with many of my friends in Himachal, India and the streets of India. I had a relatively education/opportunity . Be aware. Got a bit of a challenge . Why don't I tell the world the story of my place? I got into music out of a sense of responsibility. The first thing is to tell me the story of Karnali. Yes, the story of Karnali has been told by others too. I think that by mixing some creation and some art through music, it should be heard/understood by common people.
I mixed the song there with the previous song . If you have a full heart. Just as the Gandharvas in Gandaki used to tell their stories of defeats and joys with fiddles, in the same way, the people of Karnali tell stories from house to house. Those who tell the story of lack of heroism. They are the ones who ask questions through music. If there is a wedding or a fast in someone's house, they tell a story in a fun way. Hudke is a storyteller in himself. If the story can be told through Hudke, it means that it can reach many viewers. That's why I'm constantly using hood in my music.
It is difficult to find a person who plays the hood in Karnali . First, the instrument itself is not found, and those who play it are not found . Dalits who used to play the hood. Who are the scientists of this society . Their fine art, music and the art of playing the hood did not find a market. They didn't fall in reach, they got overwhelmed . That art did not fill their bellies . The new generation doesn't want to play that hood . There is a shortage of Sanah, Damah players in Karnali . Our local instruments should be taught from the school level. If we don't keep these tools in the
curriculum, the new generation will forget these cultural tools . Damphu of the Tamang community should not be seen in a museum, students should be taught about the history, practice and philosophy of this instrument from school. The state should pay attention to the aspect that our children should touch and learn about such instruments through school . Secondly, the skill of those who play and make these instruments should be respected . Their contribution in that field should be appreciated, the state should find ways to strengthen such talent financially. He may pass on that skill to the new generation.
At present, the 'algorithm' works in the market . It cannot be said that there are no songs worth listening to in the market. However, the lifespan of those songs is normal . After two weeks, the taste of those songs is lost, they are forgotten . How powerful is music? How serious are we culturally? To understand that, it is enough to pay attention to the music we are listening to. What kind of music you listen to reflects your personality . As a
creator, what kind of creation you're bringing to market means what kind of generation you're creating. After those children who are studying in class 6, 7 and 8 listen to the music, how will the image of a woman be formed in their minds ? How does he view caste ? How do you understand your poverty? What are we filling in the minds of those children who have not experienced life? Everyone wants to get a quick buzz. We are running after viral music. It seems they are killing the essence of music in the rush to go viral. But, I am not saying this as an expert .
But, do you think once? Are you really making a work of art or just following a rumor . If you are serious about working in the field of art, your work will have meaning even after 10 years . Your million views don't count then . However, your music should be something to be proud of even when you look back 10 years from now . Even after years, let that music carry weight . How many follow viral music to survive? But, we should be a little more careful? I also don't care if my current songs will play or not.
I know, I came here with the intention of working long-term . Jadau sir is the ninth song . I have done so much music while watching. My aim is to bring the unspeakable, unspeakable pains and stories of my community to a large audience through music. How many are making songs that can only be heard by the ears and not by the heart. You must be responsible as a creator. Art guides society. How serious we are/are not about that aspect . Yes, there is a fusion between modern and Raithane flavored music now, it's a great practice . That's it, let's look at the world but don't leave our own things .
music is creation . There is always a possibility in that . To have that possibility, you must understand what your identity is. Karnali itself is a unique civilization. Karnali has its own music, culture. It is so full that the world has to be told . Who says that ? You young people like us, who write, speak . Since I belong to that area, I would like to call Karnali's instruments, arts and social stories. Well, now those stories don't go viral, whether they reach a million views or not. If you keep moving forward, the results will be really good . So, as I would like to say to the young people who are in this field, we should not be tired . Don't get tired of not playing the
song. The song may not play. You don't do music to get buzz. I had to learn to enjoy music while making it. When that art brings joy to you, then it brings joy to others too . There is no satisfaction in creating music for others. There is a lot of potential in folk music. There is no folk music in Nepal anywhere in the world. There are other characteristics of those countries. Folk music is our country.
Our country has diversity. Rai, Limbu, Gurung, Magar, your own community should not forget their weapons. A foreigner will come and do PhD in our Damphu and he will teach us his knowledge ? We grew up playing Damfu, we were born in that rhythm. We don't need to make an international expert to teach our instruments, we have to create an expert here . No longer bringing foreign people to teach hudko . Hudko is in our gin . So there is a lot of work to be done in music in Nepal.
is probably because there is not much work, I see a lot of potential in music . The second thing is whether or not the song became popular. Whether you are constantly working from the heart . Are your intentions right? So I see more hope and possibility than being disappointed. For that, we think that our music should be said in a way that the world can understand .
