I was born 35 years ago in Rukum Paschim Bafikot Rural Municipality Ward-3. In 2057, I became the treasurer of Aneraswaviyu when I was studying in class 5 at Syarputal Primary School in Rukum West. We used to collect a levy of Rs 5 per person in the meeting. I went to Bafikot to study class 6. I joined the district committee. In a way, I felt the vein of politics.
Aneraswaviyu was the main door to my politics. Passed SLC in 2062. By that time I was active in ANERASWAVIU. In 2063, I became a district member of All Nepal Mahila Sangh. At that time I used to write articles in newspapers. Jantidhara weekly newspaper was published at that time. I was happy when my name appeared in the magazine. I used to show it to my relatives. I used to write news on Sisne FM. There were many events in Jivis. I used to report the program and give news on FM.
Spent a stint at Anemasangh. Through Press Chautari, I also became a representative in Nepal Journalist Federation. I also did a master's degree in health while doing journalism. While studying, I also became a social director of local government and community development programs for three years. I was in the mode of going abroad after financial shortage. His father was disabled and had to be looked after. And I hesitated at the thought of going abroad.
My father Datta Bahadur Malla was involved in the active politics of UML, so I was also attracted to UML. From time to time, the thought of not having an access point would weaken the morale. But if you act with a pure heart, you will get results. I understand that. It is very challenging for women to do politics. Existential issues are also coming up. Our success will be talked about existence.
Now the rest of his life will be devoted to UML. There is a threat of contesting direct elections from UML. In 2079, I became a provincial MP from the Khasarya women's list in the Karnali Provincial Assembly. Even though I sent names for the closed list, I did not think that I would become an MP. After sending names for proportionality, some leaders cut my name. The leaders hesitated to send my name along with the names of 6 women. My name was on the last number. I complained that even the name agreed upon in the district was cut.
The matter of the dispute in the district has reached the party president KP Sharma Oli. Got a call from him saying that the Hon. I cried with joy then. He asked about his father's health. He knew that his father was ill. Even now, when you meet, you ask about your father's health.
I suffered a lot because I was a woman. I became an MP at the age of 33. Seeing that I work honestly, the party also gave me a lot of responsibility. I became an expert member of the National Land Commission in 2077. It was a great pleasure to have the opportunity to work for the landless squatters.
There is an understanding that proportional parliamentarians only make legislation. This is not only correct, it is also a job to voice people's problems from legislation, to facilitate development. But we have an understanding that directly elected parliamentarians are responsible for taking the initiative for development, but this is actually wrong. We can also take the initiative of development proportionally.
I have raised many issues regarding women in the state assembly. It is possible to speak in the provincial assembly, but it is not implemented. It has to go through many steps. It should be done politically. It is not enough to speak, laws must be made. We have passed seven bills. It also takes a process to do that.
Because of my grief, I have only emphasized women's issues in the state assembly. It is known that one should be able, otherwise there will be a lot of suffering. Women have many challenges. Everything from the household should be paid. They make comments in connection with men. There is no question of ability.
The tenure of two years passed satisfactorily. Proportionate position did not reach me. Direct election. It will be very difficult for women in politics. I have many experiences from home to house. There is a lot of pain. They say they are women no matter how capable they are. The proportional position is binding on us.
Men cannot measure how much potential we have. A distinction is made between proportional and direct. We had to struggle within the state assembly to remove such discrimination. Women should not only be fought proportionally, but also directly. We are also able to fight direct elections for women.
The change of society happens through politics. There are also many opportunities in politics. Nepotism dominates politics, it must end. The competent and qualified should be looked at. The distortions in politics should be corrected. You have to bring something positive. Not everyone who joins politics is good. Weaknesses should be removed and positive things should be adopted. All have gone abroad due to disgust. There is a comment that leaders and people's representatives have spoiled it. We will have to act thoughtfully. Doing
politics also causes economic problems. There is no proper assessment. Continuity is also necessary. It is felt that if you continue with a clear mind in any profession field, you will keep looking for opportunities.
