Britain has said that it will recognize Palestine as an independent state. British Prime Minister Keir Starmer has announced the recognition of Palestine as an independent state at the United Nations General Assembly in September.

But there are some conditions. Prime Minister Starmer says that if Israel does not accept the conditions put forward by Britain, he will recognize Palestine as an independent state. Sir Keir Starmer has said that Britain will recognize Palestine as a nation if Israel does not take concrete steps to end the terrible situation in Gaza.

Prime Minister Starmer said at the press conference after the emergency cabinet meeting, "If the Israeli government does not take concrete steps to end the terrible situation in Gaza, does not declare a ceasefire, does not occupy the West Bank of Gaza and does not commit to a long-term peace process, Britain will recognize Palestine as an independent state."

He mentioned that there is no similarity between Israel and the Hamas rebel group and said that Hamas should also release all the hostages. Prime Minister Starmer says that Hamas should not have any role in the Gaza government after signing the ceasefire.

Only last week, France announced the recognition of Palestine as an independent nation. French President Emmanuel Macron said in September of this year that he would formally recognize Palestine as an independent country.  According to the data of the World Population Review

, about 140 countries of the world have recognized Palestine as an independent country. All the countries of the Arab group, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and the countries supporting the Non-Aligned Movement have accepted Palestine as an independent state. Only last year, Ireland, Norway and Spain announced the recognition of Palestine as an independent nation   had story-broken . Most Western and European countries have not given Palestine the status of an independent country. Power countries like America, Britain, France, Germany and Australia have said that the Middle East will be resolved through peace talks, but they have not shown readiness.
