About 900 families have been displaced due to floods in Mahakali and other rivers of Kanchanpur. It seems that the number of displaced people may increase after the inundation due to the floods that came with the incessant rains.

According to the District Police Office, 3,293 people from 891 families have been shifted to safe places till Monday morning. Dodhara Chandni, Bhimdatta Municipality, Bedkot, Beldadi, Belauri and Punarvas have been inundated due to floods. According to the police, 29 people trapped in the flood were rescued safely.

In Dodhara Chandni Municipality, some settlements have been inundated when the flood of Mahakali river stopped the flood of Jogbuda. Town chief of Dodhara Chandni Municipality Kishore Limbu said that Kutiakavar, Shantol, Nishani Tol, Baidifanta, Sundarnagar and Kanjbhoj were flooded.

'More than 300 families have been displaced in Jogbuda's flooded settlement,' city chief Limbu said, 'the flood is increasing, the settlement is completely submerged.' . 

More than 100 families of Bhimdatta Municipality 11, 12 and 13 have been displaced when the flood of Bhujela river entered the settlement. When the Mahakali river blocked the flow of the river, the flood entered the settlement. Displaced families are staying at the ward office and school. 

The district headquarters Mahendranagar market has also been flooded. Hundreds of families have been displaced here as well, police said. Flooding has occurred due to lack of water drainage in the market area and water from the river channel has also entered the market. Flooding has not been reduced due to the rains not stopping yet . Locals say that the flood occurred because houses were built by cutting the river channel in the market area. 

Similarly, when Chaudhar river enters the settlement, various areas of Beldadi area have also been flooded. The floods in Doda and Machheli rivers have also inundated the riverside settlements.
