President Ram Chandra Poudel has said that the arrival of the Twenty20 World Cup trophy in Nepal is a proud moment for the country. He expressed the view that this historic occasion has spread the message across the world that Nepal is moving towards the center of world cricket.
Addressing the World Cup trophy unveiling ceremony held at Rashtrapati Bhavan, Sheetal Niwas on Monday, President Poudel said, 'Nepal is becoming a strong sports-loving nation today. Cricket has played an important role in uniting the country. Along with its professional development, the foundation for building a bright future for Nepali youth through the sports sector is also becoming stronger.'
He said that the gradual development of the necessary infrastructure, opportunities and possibilities is a positive sign for the Nepali sports sector.
President Poudel also thanked the ICC for increasing the enthusiasm and confidence of Nepali cricket and the people by bringing the World Cup trophy to Nepal.

Nepal has been placed in Group 'C' in the upcoming World Cup to be held from February 7. Nepal's group includes England, West Indies, Italy and Bangladesh.
