With the great efforts of three foreign players Jaykishan Kolshawala, William Bosisto and Chadwick Walton, Karnali Yaks entered the Qualifier-2 of Nepal Premier League (NPL) Cricket. Karnali defeated Chitwan Rhinos by 21 runs on Wednesday.
Even though Ravi Bopara scored a half-century, Chitwan University Cricket Ground, which came with a target of 176 runs, lost 4 wickets in 20 overs and managed to score only 154 runs. The second match of the day will be between Sudurpaschim Royals and Janakpur Bolts. The winning team will reach the final, while the losing team will play against Karnali in Qualifier 2.
Bopara played 34 balls and scored 53 runs with 3 fours and 4 sixes. In Sokram, he became the highest run scorer of NPL. He scored 284 runs and surpassed Lumbini Lions captain Rohit Paudel's 279 runs.
opener Hassan Isaakhil was dismissed in 1 run. Another opener Bipin Rawal scored 16 runs with 4 fours in 10 balls. Luke Benkenstein scored 16 with 1 four and six from 13 balls, Captain Kushal Mall scored 21 runs from 24 balls with 1 six.

Santosh Karki 8, Sohail Tanveer 4, Amarsingh Rautela out for 9 runs. Sharad Bheshavkar played 10 balls and Region Dhakal played 4 balls and remained unbeaten for 7 runs. Jason Maksud took 3 wickets from Karnali. He spent only 26 runs in 4 overs. Similarly, Nandan Yadav and Sompal Kami took 2 each and Bipin Sharma took 1 wicket. Vipin spent 27 runs in 4 overs.
Karnali, who lost the toss and was invited to bat, scored 175 runs after losing 6 wickets in the scheduled 20 overs. Kolshawala, who is playing in the tournament for the first time despite being familiar in Nepali cricket, scored 53 off 39 balls, Bosisto scored 52 off 39 balls and Walton scored an unbeaten 46 off 23 balls. Wicketkeeper-opening batter Kolshawala hit 6 fours and 2 sixes and Bosisto, who was in high form, hit 3 fours and 2 sixes. Walton hit 4 fours and 3 sixes. Rit Gautam, who got a second chance in the
competition, got out again in the 60th round. Even Gulshan Jha could not open the account. Jason Maqsood was dismissed for 14 off 12 balls and Dev Khanal scored 3 runs. From Chitwan, Sohail Tanvir took 2 wickets for 24 runs in 4 overs. Sharad Bheshavkar, Ravi Bopara and captain Kushal Malla got 1/1 wicket each. Karnali also defeated Chitwan by 6 wickets in the
round robin league.
