The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) general convention has elected new office bearers and central members. But when the convention was extended, many delegates returned home without casting their votes.
The delegates had expressed dissatisfaction with the chaotic management seen in the first general convention of the RSS. Most of the delegates returned home after the convention was extended due to repeated interruptions in the closed session and election process.
The RSS had set the general convention date for Asad 7 to 9. But it concluded the general convention only on Friday, 3 days late. The delegates who were supposed to be elected from the district were chosen from the convention venue, Bharatpur. The dispute over finalizing the delegates prevented the RSS from starting the closed session on time.
The total number of delegates to the general convention of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) was 4,19, including 170 in exile. But only 1,341 voted in the election for office bearers.
2,678 did not vote for office bearers. Only 53 people voted in exile and 1,288 through electronic voting for office bearers. Only 33 percent of the total delegates voted for the election of office bearers. In the election for 99 central members, 2,959 votes were cast.
