If there is no consensus for the selection of office bearers of the National Independent Party (NISP), elections will be held for 6 posts.

The NSP statute provides for elections for 99 central members including the president, two vice-presidents, one general secretary, and three joint general secretaries. Ravi Lamichhane has been unanimously elected as the president from the first phase, and the central member has also been elected. In the second phase, elections are going to be held for 6 posts from among the central members.

Biraj Bhakta Shrestha and Swarnim Wagle have announced their candidacies for the two vice-president posts of the NSP. Sobita Gautam, Indira Rana Magar, and Toshima Karki have announced their candidacies for the post of women's vice-president.

8 leaders have announced their candidacies for the post of general secretary. Shishir Khanal, who is also the Minister for Foreign Affairs, outgoing General Secretary Kavindra Burlakoti, outgoing Joint General Secretary Bipin Acharya, leaders Ganesh Parajuli, Manish Jha, Ganesh Karki have announced their candidacies. Sunil Lamsal, Bhupdev Shah, Laxman Tharu, Santosh Giri and others are being prepared to be nominated.

The RSVP statute gives the President the right to nominate 51 members to the central committee. Leaders who are in line to become central members and office bearers through the same process have not filed their candidacies.
