An informal meeting of former President Sher Bahadur Deuba's faction leaders is being held today after the Supreme Court's decision to recognize the Central Working Committee that came from the special general convention. Leader Prakash Sharan Mahat said that the meeting, which will be held at the residence of then acting President Purna Bahadur Khadka at 4 pm, will focus on how to move forward after the court's decision. Most leaders of the Deuba faction have started standing in favor of party unity after the court's final decision. They have expressed the view that they should accept the Central Working Committee that came from the special general convention and go to the upcoming 15th regular general convention. Leader Mahat said that a mechanism should be created for party unity and a dialogue should be started to determine a common view. He said that although the court's decision was unexpected, he was in favor of broad party unity.

Jeevan Pariyar, a leader close to Koirala, said that his group would not participate in the meeting of the then acting president Khadka group. He said that discussions should now be held with the establishment party to go to the 15th general convention of the party with unity. On behalf of Koirala, Pariyar and another leader Badri Pandey are holding discussions with the office bearers of the establishment party including president Gagan Thapa. 'Now the president should build a big chest and take the initiative for unity, the local elections are coming up in a year.' Even if it is kept at the center, we have always had the view that we should discuss with all parties and leaders,' he said, 'Now we will not participate in separate activities that will affect party unity again.' Chairman Thapa, however, has said that he will engage in dialogue with leaders from Saturday. Before the Supreme Court's verdict, Thursday's central working committee meeting had decided to give Thapa the responsibility to initiate dialogue for party unity.
