Only 5 votes were cast in favor of Saraswati Lama, who has filed her candidacy for the post of Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives from the Rashtriya Prajatantra Party. When the votes were divided for the election of the Deputy Speaker in the House of Representatives on Friday, only 5 votes were cast in favor of the RPP candidate.

Speaker DP Aryal informed that 5 votes were cast in favor of Deputy Speaker candidate Lama and 215 votes were cast against him. Speaker Aryal had announced that 37 MPs would remain neutral (not vote on the proposal) during the vote division on the proposal to make Lama the Deputy Speaker.

The number of RPP MPs in the House of Representatives is 5. RPP parliamentary party leader Gyan Bahadur Shahi had proposed that Lama be elected as the Deputy Speaker.

257 MPs were present in the House of Representatives when the vote was divided on the proposal to elect Lama as Deputy Speaker. There are 275 MPs in the House of Representatives. The Speaker does not participate in the vote division . 

The process of dividing the votes has begun on the proposal to elect Shram Sanskriti Party candidate Rubi Kumari as Deputy Speaker.
