Bharat Prasad Parajuli, a candidate of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSWP) from Sindhupalchowk constituency number 1, has entered the parliamentary journey for the first time.
He is a new face in the district's politics. Born into an ordinary farming family, 57-year-old Parajuli from Balefi Rural Municipality-6 worked as a director of an NGO for a decade. Along with that, Parajuli, who is involved in the hydropower business, has caught the mood of national politics. He is involved in the hydropower business and is also the chairman of the 45-megawatt Brahmayani Hydropower Project under construction in Jugal Rural Municipality.

Earlier, in the 2079 BS House of Representatives election, the then Maoist Center candidate Madhav Sapkota was elected from this constituency with 30,408 votes. Sapkota was supported by the Nepali Congress in that election. According to the Office of the Chief Electoral Officer, this time Parajuli defeated his nearest rival Madhav Sapkota of the Nepali Congress by securing 24,412 votes. Sapkota received 17,327 votes.
After being elected, he has committed to upgrading rural roads, constructing concrete bridges, expanding drinking water projects, irrigation facilities, completing unfinished projects in the education and health sectors. 'I will complete my vision of a prosperous Sindhupalchowk and the development blueprint by including everyone, and I will focus on overall development, this is my commitment,' he said.
