Congress leader NP Saud has claimed that the Central Working Committee has already said that there is no justification for a special general convention.
He said that the decision to hold a regular general convention in Baisakh has been made and that he is confident that the general secretaries will accept the decision of the Central Working Committee. He said this while talking to the media after leaving the meeting of the Congress Central Working Committee.
He said that they are ready to go to the regular general convention. He said that they will go to the regular general convention after revising the agenda and that they will hold a regular general convention even after revising the agenda.
On Tuesday itself, supporters of the Nepali Congress demanding a special general convention had surrounded the party central office in Sanepa. The leaders of the Congress' special general convention supporters have been raising serious questions over the decision of the Central Working Committee, claiming that there is a mandatory provision to call a special general convention as per Article 17 (2) of the party statute.
