The process of selecting delegates for the 11th General Convention of the UML to be held in the last week of Mangsir is underway. It has set a method for selecting delegates. It is scheduled to select 2,200 delegates by Sunday. According to which, 355 Central Committee members, 29 Central Disciplinary Commission, 30 Accounts Commission, 25 Election Commission, and 25 elected from the Advisory Council will be directly selected as delegates.
There will be 45 representatives elected from the party members working in the provincial (including special) committees of the country at the rate of five, including at least two women. Similarly, up to 1,200 party members working in the House of Representatives constituency, 4 representatives will be elected, including one youth under the age of 40 and at least one woman, for every party member.
If the minimum number of party members in a province exceeds 800 members, one more woman representative will be elected, and after that, one more elected representative will be elected for every additional 8/800. If it exceeds that, the first 800 will be women and the others will be elected in the same proportion. The total number of elected representatives in this way will come from about 1,135 constituencies.
In a special district, there will be three elected representatives, including at least one woman, for every 1,000 party members up to 200 members (if the number of members exceeds 800, one more for every 800, one-third of such number has been ensured). At least one representative will be elected from up to 500 Dalit party members working in the geographical district as a Dalit representative. If the number of members in that area exceeds 500, another one will be elected for each additional one and if more than that, in the same proportion (at least one woman must be elected when three representatives are elected). Similarly, for the selection of workers' representatives, there will be 49 representatives elected at the rate of seven, including at least three women, from the workers' party members working in the 7 provinces of the geography.
10 representatives, including at least 3 women, from the special constituency of India and the remaining 5 special constituencies of the diaspora (America/Canada, Europe, Asia-Pacific, Gulf) and Oceania) will be elected at the rate of five representatives from each region, including two women.
32 elected representatives will come from each department among the party members working in the central department.

137 elected representatives will be selected from among the party members working in the central committee of the mass organization and the federation, including at least 3 women, and 5 representatives from the mass organization.
When selecting representatives from the constituencies under geography, Dalit, Valley Special and Contact Coordination to be elected from general party members, if the remaining number is more than fifty percent, one additional representative will be added.
It has been decided to select at least 5 representatives including at least 2 women from the Pravasi Nepali Sangh India and Pravasi Nepali Sangh International Committees, like the provincial committees.
137 elected representatives will be selected from the district committees under Valley Special and Contact Coordination, like the geographical district committees. The method has been amended to select youth under the age of 40 within 1200. Earlier, there was a provision for selecting representatives only from the constituency.
The secretariat meeting has decided to appoint representatives of the general convention under a special arrangement from among the leaders who joined the party from various leftist groups under the Gharfirti campaign, those who are in the central committees of those groups.
As per the provisions of the statute, there will be 101 nominated representatives in the general convention.
