Tribhuvan University has written to various bodies, including the Laboratory School, to return the encroached land. On April 4, Tribhuvan University issued a 35-day public notice to return the land and has written to the individuals, institutions and companies involved in the encroachment.

The letter written by the General Administration Division under the Registrar's Office asks them to immediately vacate and return the buildings, land and immovable property. The letter written by the Division Chief Raj Bahadur Rai to the bodies states that if the encroached land and buildings are not returned within the specified time, they will be vacated with the necessary support of the government. The letters, which were sent to the bodies separately on Thursday, have also been sent to the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology and the Ministry of Home Affairs for information, the Registrar's Office has stated.

The government and the TU Executive Council had decided to implement the report and made it public. The council had also decided to publish a 35-day notice for the return of the land on Chaitra 23. The letter written to the Lab School states, 'Since this school is illegally occupying the land and buildings registered and owned by TU and conducting educational programs, the school has been operating illegally despite repeated correspondence and notices to vacate the land and buildings.' The report suggests that the school should pay the rent since the land was occupied since 2057 BS.

The investigation committee formed by the government has pointed out that about 2500 ropanis of TU's land has been encroached. The committee's report also mentions that land in Kirtipur, outside Kirtipur and various affiliated campuses has also been encroached upon. The report points out that the land and immovable property owned by Tribhuvan University and its subordinate bodies have been illegally occupied, occupied and controlled by some individuals, companies, organizations or bodies, contrary to the university's acts, rules and prevailing laws.

'The land and immovable properties (mentioned or not mentioned in the report) provided to the university for the educational upliftment of TRI at various times and under various circumstances (mentioned in the report) must be vacated/caused to be returned to TRI within 35 days from the date of first publication of this notice. This notice has been published for the information of all concerned in accordance with the decision of the TRI Executive Council dated Chaitra 23, 2082. Otherwise, the procedure to be followed as per the rules is also informed,'  said the public notice published by TRI on Baisakh 4.
