According to sources close to the ministry, Minister Gupta is certain not to go there as he is scheduled to register his candidacy for the House of Representatives directly on the 6th.
In a conversation with Kantipur, Minister Gupta said that he had not even applied for a visa and was dragged into the dispute with the organizers. He said, 'The process to go there had not even begun.'
Minister Gupta was invited to the youth conference on 'Rule of NRNA Youth in the Development of the Nepal Post-Gen-G Revolution' to be held in Dallas, Texas, on January 16. Its organizer was the NRNA led by President Bikash Upreti. The NRNA led by Satendra Sah had also issued a statement objecting to the program.
The NRNA led by Sah has claimed that they are official and have not organized any program and have not even invited Minister Gupta. Sah, claiming that they are the official NRNA, said, 'We have not invited anyone to the program and we have not even held a program.'
The Upreti-led NRNA, however, has stated that they have sent an invitation only to Minister Gupta. Upreti-led NRNA spokesperson Dron Gautam has issued a statement claiming that Minister Gupta has been officially invited through the ministry.
In the backdrop of the controversy, NRNA-led Mahesh Shrestha and Badri KC have come to the ministry and met Minister Gupta.
Amidst this controversy, Minister Gupta has decided not to attend the program.
