Dharan Sub-metropolitan City Mayor Hark Sampang has strongly questioned the role of the United Nations (UN) in the US military attack on Venezuela.

On Sunday, Sampang posted a photo on his social media, expressing his anger over the silence of the UN, an organization that advocates for world peace and democracy.

Last Saturday, the US arrested and took Nicolas Maduro into its custody. Sampang has questioned the UN's silence on America's activities.

While Nepal's leftist parties and other leaders are also protesting against this, calling it an intervention in a sovereign country, Dharan Mayor Sampang has also expressed his dissatisfaction in his own style.

On Monday, he wrote on Facebook, 'Hello UN!!! What do you think about the US attack on Venezuela? Where is your so-called democracy?'

According to international media, the US has taken Maduro and his wife into custody on drug trafficking charges.

However, China, Russia and some other countries have called this move a clear violation of international law and the UN Charter.
