Shyam Singh Jora of Bhageshwor Rural Municipality-1 received a call from his son Manoj (Man Bahadur) on Friday night to discuss his preparations for his wedding.

Manoj, a 22-year-old man working in Goa, India, was preparing to get married at home in the upcoming Magh month. The family's plan to invite him home as soon as the puja is over has been ruined by a fire at a nightclub on Saturday night.

25 people, including Manoj, died in a fire at a nightclub in Goa on Saturday night. Four Nepali youths were killed in the incident.

Manoj, who had entered India in search of work after completing his 8th grade education due to poverty, had planned to become a 'safe'. For that, he had reached Goa only 6 months ago. Before that, he was working in Nagpur, India. 'When we talked on the phone, we said to start preparing for the wedding and I will come in Magh,' Shyam Singh said, 'I had to accept the body of my young son who had entered India due to poverty.'

After working in Nagpur for a long time, he had reached Goa only 6 months ago after getting a good job. ‘My nephew, who has been working in the hotel sector since he went to India, used to say that he would become a good chef.’ Manoj’s grandfather Jograj said, ‘He used to say that good chefs earn a lot in Goa and jobs are also fixed.’

Shyam Singh had to travel a lot for treatment after his sister fell ill for a long time. Jograj said that Manoj left his 8th grade studies midway to reduce his father’s financial burden after he could not afford the expenses.
After the incident, the family members retrieved Manoj’s body from Goa and performed the last rites in Haridwar, India, on Thursday morning.

According to the Nepali Embassy in Delhi, the bodies of four of the five Nepali citizens who died in the incident were brought to Nepal on Tuesday and Wednesday.
