On Sunday morning, the police were surprised when the body of 30-year-old Rubi Kumari Sah was found in a blue suitcase near Mudbalwa Gate of Gaur-Sirsia section. Who killed Ruby and why? Was this incident done by a criminal group or was there some other reason behind it?

The investigating police could not conclude that Ruby's lover Lakshman Paswan was responsible for the murder, and made a 9-minute video, Lakshman set himself on fire taking responsibility for the murder. The police arrested him from the side of the road from Madhavpur to Samanpur in Rautahat .

Lakshman died at Kirtipur burn hospital during treatment. Why did he end up in a self-defeating psychology after Ruby's murder? What was the long background of all this incident ? We have tried to explain the inside of this event in 7 questions and answers. 

1. When and how did Ruby and Laxman's relationship start?
Ruby and Lakshman knew each other since they were studying in Class 6 at Madhopur High School located in Madhavanarayan Municipality-6 of Rautahat . There were only five other houses between the two houses. In other words, the distance between their two houses was about hundred meters . They used to study tuition together. According to school friends, they loved each other since then. Some close friends knew about it .

While studying in 10th grade, not only in school but also many people in the village knew that they were in love. But the local residents were heard to wonder why Lakshman had fallen in love saying that the caste did not match. Ruby's family also alerted Laxman and his family about this. According to journalist Subbasaheb Paswan, a member of the Madhesh Pradesh Committee of the Local and Dalit Journalist Association, at that time, some unknown persons also threatened Lakshman. 

2. What is the family background of both? What is the status of the two families in terms of access or inheritance?
Lakshman was the only son of Jayanath Paswan who didn't even have a hair of his own. Due to his poor family, he came to Malaysia for foreign employment in 2076. Returned after working for 5 years. A year ago, Lakshman was worried about Babu Jayanath's paralysis. The money he earned in Malaysia was also spent on his father's treatment and paying old debts.

Ruby's family background was different. She was a lovely daughter of a middle class family. According to local representative Rajeev Yadav, Ruby's father has been in Gujarat, India for employment since 2070. He was in India even during the murder of Ruby. In the absence of her father, Ruby grew up under her mother's umbrella. According to the locals, there was a conflict between these two families due to the fact that their daughter Ruby fell in love with Lakshman. Because of this, Ruby's family migrated from the village in 2068 and settled in Gaur, the headquarters.

Being a Dalit and a non-Dalit family, not only the social prestige and economic background of the two families but also the social access were different. 8 locals contacted by Kantipur said that even though they love each other, the issue of caste has created more problems. Because Lakshman was a Dalit, he was under the stars of Ruby's family . The caste system of the society seems to be responsible for not recognizing this love relationship.

3. Why were they forced to run away and get married? And why didn't that marriage last ? 

The whole society was divided in the case of a love affair between a Dalit and a non-Dalit. Thinking that their love will be separated by the society, Laxman and Ruby ran away to Chandigarh, India on 24th December 2068. At that time, both of them were studying in class 10. At that time, Ruby was 16 and Laxman was 17.

They returned to the village in July 2069 after seven months. They used to say that on 15th July 2069, they had a 'court marriage' from Sarlahi District Court. But in the police investigation, it seems that they registered the marriage by collecting fake documents. Rautahat police arrested both of them while they were returning from marriage. Because Ruby's family had filed a police case against Laxman, his uncle Baijnath Hazar and cousin Khajanchi Paswan for kidnapping and body hostage and human trafficking. Laxman, who was arrested, remained in custody for 17 days. 15,000 bail and released. According to District Court Rautahat Srestedar Kesar Aryal, Laxman, his uncle and cousin, who had been tried for almost 2 years, were acquitted by the single bench of the then judge Radhakrishna Upreti on November 25, 2071. 

4. What happened after they were separated from each other ? 
6-7 months after Ruby and Laxman were separated by filing a case, Ruby's mother got her married to a boy from Roksatol in Muzaffarpur district of India . It is not clear how long after Ruby's marriage, Laxman got married. But shortly after Ruby's marriage, Lakshman married a young woman. Now Lakshman has 7 and 4 year old sons .  Ruby, who married an Indian boy, also gave birth to a son there . Two months ago, Ruby came to Maiti's Dera in Gaur to teach her 4-year-old son.

5. Lately Laxman came in contact with Ruby or Ruby herself came in contact with Laxman ?

According to the police, despite being separated from each other, the relationship between Ruby and Laxman was not broken. According to Rudra Kandel, Police Inspector of District Police Office Rautahat, it seems that they had many conversations on WhatsApp. Laxman returned from Malaysia two months before Ruby returned from India. He left his father, mother, wife and two sons in the village house and started living in Balmandir Patadi, the headquarters . The camp of the two of them was at a distance of about one and a half kilometers.   Ruby reached the parlor in the afternoon (Saturday) of the

incident. It has been seen in the police investigation that Ruby reached Laxman's dera at 4:55 PM after the conversation between them. In some photos that the police seized from Laxman's camp, it is also seen that both of them 'celebrated Laxman's birthday'. The police is not clear whether they celebrated their birthday on the day of the incident or some day before. 

6. Why did Laxman reach the point of killing Ruby?
The day after the incident, Ruby was preparing to go to her husband's house in India. According to the police, Lakshman must have been under stress because of Ruby's separation from him that day. According to the police who are investigating the incident, it seems that Ruby's family and society have separated them due to caste and that she has become a 'rebel'. The police have speculated that he may have planned to take revenge for marrying Ruby to an Indian boy. Lakshman also said in the video that this is the reason why he went into depression and wanted to kill Ruby and leave this world. . He was also aware that Ruby's family did not allow him to meet. In this background, the police believe that there was a dispute between them and it may have led to murder. 

7. What did Lakshman do after Ruby's murder?
Last Saturday night, Lakshman strangled Ruby in his own dera  . According to the police, after the murder, he seems to be involved in the management of the body. It has been seen in the police investigation that they planned to pack the body in a suitcase and put it in an e-rickshaw and throw it in the Bagmati River.
