Ravi Lamichhane, chairman of the Rashtriya Swatantra Party (RASWPA), who is in Rupandehi jail pending trial on the charge of Supreme Cooperative fraud, has been rejected by the District Court Rupandehi.

Rajendra Thapa, a legal practitioner in Lamichhane, filed a petition and postponed both hearings. Judge Yogi ordered Lamichhane to be released on a bond of 1 crore on January 13.

Lamichhane filed an application in the District Court Rupandehi on Monday, July 19, demanding to be released with bail equal to his share. In the Supreme Cooperative fraud case of Butwal, on March 22, the Butwal bench of the High Court Tulsipur ordered Lamichhane to be sent to prison for preliminary incarceration.
