Two of the people on duty of the return flight were displeased after they were given only 50,000 US dollars (about 70 lakh rupees) and the others only 20,000 US dollars (about 28 lakh rupees) for the full and final settlement of all insurance claims.

The family members of the technical staff who lost their lives in the plane crash of Sourya Airlines in Kathmandu a year ago have objected to the discrimination of 'compensation payment'.
Two of the people on the "duty" of the "return flight" were displeased after they were given only 50,000 US dollars (about 70 lakh rupees) for the full and final settlement of all insurance claims, and the others only got 20,000 US dollars (about 28 lakh rupees).
Solar's CRJ aircraft with registration number 'Alpha-Mike-Eco' had an accident on 9 July 2081 while taking off from Pokhara for detailed maintenance (C-Check). 18 people on the passenger board including co-pilot Sushant Katuwal died. Most of them were solar technicians and engineers. Captain Manishratna Shakya was rescued. The ship took off with the permission of 're-flight' to carry the manpower needed for the repair . 50 thousand US dollars has been provided to the families of co-pilot Katuwal and operation engineer Mahato who died in the
accident. In the case of others, the family members say that there was pressure through the agency company Pradhan & Associates, which deals with Sourya's insurance and law, to take the 20,000 US dollars that the passengers who bought the tickets will receive. The families of 10 deceased have objected to the insurance amount.
'My brother, who was sent to repair the ship, is being asked to take the insurance compensation as a passenger . This is another pain for us victims," Kamlesh Burma, the brother of Dilip Burma, said to Kantipur, "How can we consider a person who flies to work as a passenger? The government and regulatory bodies became silent spectators. Airlines didn't help either . Where do we go for justice? Is this not a fraud?'
Dilip, who has worked as a technician in Nepal's aviation sector for three decades, was working as a quality manager (engineer) in Sourya Airlines. The responsibility of 58-year-old Dilip, who has been working in Sourya for 8 years, was to see if the quality of the ship's maintenance was correct. While going to Pokhara, he was sent by Sourya as a crew member as 'maintenance personnel'. But after the accident, "Pradhan & Associates" called Dilip's 51-year-old wife Pritilal Kayasth on 28th December 2081 to claim the insurance amount as the maximum amount was 20 thousand US dollars.
Preeti is carrying the pain of losing her husband sometimes insurance authority, sometimes solar airlines and sometimes Prabhu insurance . After calling to understand about the insurance for only 20 thousand dollars, I went to the insurance authority with my brother-in-law. However, our request was stopped when the authority said that no decision will be taken without the report of the inquiry committee," Dilip's brother Kamlesh said. The inquiry commission formed by the government has published a report three weeks ago, which has pointed out the extreme larceny of Solar Airlines.
Deepakraj Puri, the brother of aircraft maintenance engineer Uddhav Puri of Ramkot, who lost his life in the Sourya ship accident, has the same complaint. The technical leadership of the solar ship repair was on my brother's shoulders. But now the passengers are under pressure to understand the insurance amount," Deepak, who is running a bike workshop in Swayambhu, said, "We have filed a complaint with the insurance authority without understanding. We are waiting for the decision.'
Uddhav was working in Sourya for 7 years. He studied Aircraft Maintenance Engineering from Bangalore, India. Before Saurya, he worked for three years in Nepal Airlines Corporation. Sourya Airlines has insured the staff involved in the flight for 50,000 dollars. But when they asked to give us as passengers, the relatives had to go to a legal battle," said Deepak.
Sudijlal Joshi of Lalitpur Hattivan also died in Sourya's ship accident. He was working as an aeronautical engineer in Solar for 3 years. Sudij's uncle Mahendrabhakta Shrestha said that since the report of the accident due to the airline's weakness was published, he is preparing to go to legal battle. We were in two minds about what to do and how to do it. Even though it was late, the report came that the main weakness of the airlines is . Now we will collectively fight a legal battle against many injustices including insurance.'
According to Umesh Acharya, Deputy Managing Director of Sourya Airlines, 9 out of 18 families have not understood the insurance amount. He says that no current law will ensure more demand than that. "They have a demand of more than 20,000 dollars," said Acharya, "according to our policy, their demand is not eligible."
According to the international Warsaw Convention, the deceased were technical employees of the company and they were not passengers, so they were entitled to the same insurance as Cockfit Three. "I don't know if the Warsaw Pact says maintenance workers should be treated as crew," said Deputy Managing Director Acharya, "but just like a person on duty during an air flight - an operations engineer can claim to be a flight crew ." In this incident, the family of Santosh Mahato got a cross insurance.'
The family members of the deceased Rajaram Acharya, Navraj Alemgar, Yagya Prasad Paudel, Arif Abdul Karim appear in the list released by Sourya who expressed their dissatisfaction with the compensation including the insurance amount. Meanwhile, journalist Prakash Khatiwada, who lost his grandson, daughter Preeja Khatiwada and son-in-law Manuraj Sharma in this accident, has not fully received the compensation including insurance . He has been demanding a judicial inquiry into this accident.
Sourya's ship had an accident on July 9 last year during take-off inside the Kathmandu airport. Only Captain Manishratna Shakya was rescued alive in the accident. Co-pilot Sushant Katuwal along with 18 people on the back passenger board died on the spot. The flight attendant was not there. Most of those who died were solar technicians and engineers.
