Expressing grief over the loss of property caused by the flood in Bhotekoshi river in Rasuwa this morning, the Nepali Congress has drawn the attention of the government to make the rescue work more systematic and effective.

Party's Chief Secretary Krishna Prasad Paudel issued a statement and appealed for high vigilance to be maintained at the civilian level. The incident of missing 15 citizens including 3 policemen is very sad. The Miteri bridge connecting Nepal-China and containers and other motor vehicles in the customs area have caused damage worth crores of rupees. It draws the serious attention of the Nepali Congress government to make the rescue work more systematic and effective during this disaster.'

Remembering that floods and landslides have to be faced every year during the rainy season and even during the off-season, a serious calamity was experienced on October 12 last year, the Congress has requested the government at all levels to be ready with a systematic plan to deal with the disaster in a united manner.
