High alert in Nepal-India border area

After the tension between India and Pakistan escalated, the Armed Police Force (APF) of Nepal has started to exercise high vigilance in the border area. APF has been cautious to prevent illegal infiltration from the Nepal-India border area by covering up the tension between the two countries.

Joint spokesperson of APF, DSP Shailendra Thapa informed that joint patrolling and information exchange at the border has been intensified in collaboration and coordination with the Indian Armed Forces (SSB).

'Patrolling is being done from one BOP to another BOP 24 hours a day,' he said. He said that surveillance is also being carried out at possible places of risk.

Co-spokesperson Thapa informed that all police officers in the border area have been given special instructions from the head office to control and monitor unauthorized infiltration. "Bahini headquarters have formulated and implemented a security plan," he said.
