Arrest of Durga Prasai, prepared to make it public on Friday

Durga Prasain, the commander of the violent demonstration by the royalists, has been arrested. Officials have said that he was arrested by the Special Bureau of Nepal Police from the border area of Eastern Nepal, who fled after inciting violence in the name of 15th Chait demonstration.

However, Prasain's associates claim that he has surrendered to the Assam Police in India .

Three teams of Nepal Police had reached India to find the Prasai who had escaped after causing trouble. Based on the information that he was in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, a special team of police reached there. But as he was not comfortable taking control, that team was brought to Bhairahawa. The other team reached Delhi and was waiting for the environment,' said a police officer, 'The other team in the northeast of India became the environment to get close to Prasai who reached around Assam.'

The police denied that Prasai was arrested in India. rather  The police officer claims that he can be arrested soon within Nepal. Since there is no extradition treaty between Nepal and India, there is a practice of informally dealing with accused persons arrested in each other's countries. If you are arrested in another country, the police of that country will bring you to the border area and release you, and then the police of the respective country will take over and take you to your destination.

Meanwhile, in a press release on Thursday night, police spokesperson DIG Dinesh Acharya said, "Durga Prasai, who has been involved in various criminal incidents, is on the wanted list of the Nepal Police, and we sincerely request everyone not to publish/broadcast misleading news as she has not been arrested yet." On the other hand, Prasain's supporters have claimed through social media that Prasain has surrendered to the Assam Police in India.

In the violent demonstration of Rajawadi, Prasai trampled the police and trampled the vehicle, while his supporters pelted stones, vandalized, arson and looted a total of 40 structures including various public and private buildings, media houses and commercial centers. Similarly, 69 public and private vehicles were damaged. Journalist Suresh Rajak and presenter Savin Maharjan were killed in the incident, while 129 people were injured, five people are still in hospital.

Even though Prasain escaped, the police arrested 79 people including RPP Senior Vice President Ravindra Mishra and Chief Minister Dhavalshamsher Rana. The police are investigating Mishra and Rana in cases including sedition, organized crime and public nuisance with a court order.
