The main opposition party Maoist Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal has said that the government's decision to remove Kulman Ghising as the Executive Director of Nepal Electricity Authority is objectionable. Dahal, who is also a former prime minister, strongly criticized the government's move on social media on Monday evening.

Dahal also says that Kulman, as an energy expert, was appointed as the executive director of the authority for the first time by the government led by him as an energy expert.

'When people in the country are suffering from extreme load shedding, the government led by me as an energy expert has appointed Kulman Ghisingh as the executive director of the Electricity Authority. People know that he succeeded in building a bright Nepal with his expertise and ability and the joint efforts of our leadership,' he wrote.

Similarly, President Dahal also says that the government has been doing injustice by repeatedly asking for an explanation with the intention of removing Kulman from the position because he should collect the outstanding money. He further wrote, 'The media has come to know that the government has dismissed Kulman from the cabinet meeting, let's hope this news is proved to be false, if it is true then this move of the government is completely wrong and objectionable, I strongly condemn this decision made under the pretense of 2/3 majority.'

The government has appointed Hitendradev Shakya as the executive director of Nepal Electricity Authority. The Council of Ministers held on Monday removed Kulman Ghising and appointed Shakya. 

Executive Director Kulman was repeatedly asked for clarification by the government . Energy Minister Deepak Khadka had been giving a statement saying that Kulman did not fear the government. Kulman said that the explanation he was asked before was not satisfactory for many reasons. On the contrary, he questioned the government. He said that since the basis and reason were not revealed in the explanation, there was no condition to submit more copies.

Minister Khadka said that he was not satisfied with the explanation given by Ghising on March 28, and asked for a two-point explanation as to why he should not be removed from the post of Executive Director of Nepal Electricity Authority by a ministerial decision on February 13.
