Thursday's custodial debate has started against Ravi Lamichhane, the Central Chairman of the Rashtriya Swatantra Party (RASWPA) and former Home Minister, who has been charged in the Chitwan District Court for defrauding the savings of the Sahara Chitwan Multi-Purpose Cooperative.

Chitwan District Court Information Officer Amrit Bishwakarma informed that District Attorneys (Government Attorneys) of Bara, Parsa and Dhading participated in the debate on behalf of the plaintiff. The debate on this issue started yesterday from Budh bar.

Yesterday the district attorney and associate attorney of Chitwan and a lawyer from Jaherwala had a debate. Yesterday, the court ordered Lamichhane to be kept in judicial custody because the arguments could not be concluded. After the lawyers of the plaintiff and Zaherwala argued, the lawyers of the defendant Ravi Lamichhane will argue in the case.

After the argument of the lawyers of the side and the opposition is over, the district judge will give a decision whether to send the defendant to jail, release him on bail, or release him on simple release until the final decision of the case is reached. A lawsuit has been filed against Ravi Lamichhane, who should be sentenced to seven years in prison and a fine of 70,000 rupees, and to recover the sum of 108,000,18,151 rupees from Sahara Cooperative to Gorkha Media, which will be the collective liability of four people including Lamichhane.
