Congress candidate Prakash Chand has been elected as the chairman of Bhimdatta municipality ward number 6 of Kanchanpur.
According to the results released by the Election Commission, Chand has won by getting 1 thousand 107 votes.
UML's Bahadur Chand, the nearest rival of the Congress candidate, got 487 votes, while RPP's Sushil Kumar Bhatt got 369 votes.
In the by-election held in this ward, Jitendra Bahadur Chand of the United Samajwadi Party got 225 votes, Ram Dutt Bhatt of the Rashtriya Swatantra Party got 218 votes, and independent candidate Thaneshwar Ukhtar got 142 votes.
According to the Election Commission, in this ward, Harish Dagaura of Civil Liberation Party got 127 votes, Nanaram Koli of Maoist Center got 122 votes and independent candidate Yuvraj Chand got 99 votes.
