The Nepal Communist Party (Unified Socialist) has instructed the concerned provincial committee to recommend the names of candidates for the local by-elections to be held on 16th November.

Secretary Somprasad Pandey informed that the party has identified leaders who understand the needs of the local level, who have experience, organizational skills, who can solve people's problems and who have the ability to do development and construction work and instruct the respective provinces to recommend them by the end of October.

The Election Commission has set the deadline for registering nominations on November 2. Elections will be held on that day for a total of 44 vacant positions, including two district coordination committee chiefs, two rural village presidents, four vice presidents, one municipal chief, one deputy chief and 34 ward presidents. The party has made it clear that it will cooperate with like-minded parties but will not form an electoral alliance with the ruling parties.
