According to the Weather Forecast Division of the Department of Water and Meteorology, there is a possibility of rain and thunderstorms in the hilly areas of Koshi Province, including Wagmati Province and Gandaki Province due to the general influence of Monsoon winds as well as western winds.

According to Govind Kumar Jha, meteorologist of the division, the possibility of light rain in the hilly areas of the three provinces is predicted today. Although there is rain, there is no chance of heavy rain.

'There is a possibility of wind and rain this afternoon, but there will not be heavy rain, so there is no need to panic, even if it is windy, it will not rain, there will be no rain that will cause damage,' said Jha .

Meteorologist Jha mentioned that although there is rain, there is no such thing as rain that will break the Dasain tika . In the afternoon, there is a possibility of light to moderate rain with thunder/lightning at a few places in the hilly areas of Koshi province and one or two places in the hilly areas of the rest of the province . The department has predicted that there is a possibility of light to moderate rain at one or two places in the hilly areas of Koshi, Gandaki and Karnali provinces during the night as well. 

Most of Madhesh province including Koshi province and the eastern part of Wagmati province are under the influence of monsoon winds. The department has mentioned that there is an influence of western wind in the rest of the country .

As the minimum temperature is gradually decreasing, the general cold has increased in Kathmandu . As the minimum temperature will drop in the next week, the department has requested to take necessary precautions to avoid cold.

Today, the maximum temperature of Kathmandu will be between 27 to 29 and the minimum temperature will be 15 to 17 degrees Celsius.
