So far 72 people have died due to landslides in Kavre

District Police Office Kavre has said that 72 people have died in Kavre so far due to floods and landslides caused by rains on Friday and Saturday. According to the office, 70 people including 32 women, 26 men, 8 boys and 6 girls have died in Kavre.

Out of the 13 local levels of Kavre, Panauti municipality, Bethanchok rural municipality, Temal rural municipality and Mandandeupur municipality have the highest number of human casualties according to the information received from the office. Chief Superintendent of Police Bashundhara Khadka informed that 18 people including 8 women, 8 men, 1 boy and 1 girl died in Panauti Municipality of Kavre which was very affected. 

According to Police Superintendent Bashundhara Khadka, 12 people including 3 women, 8 men and 1 child in Bethanchok rural municipality, 10 people including 8 women, 3 men and 1 child in Temal rural municipality, 3 women, 2 in Mandandeupur municipality. 1 male, 1 child, 1 girl, 7 people, 5 women, 1 boy, 1 girl, 7 people in Roshi Rural Municipality, 3 women, 2 men, 1 boy, 1 girl, 7 people in Namobuddha Municipality. One has died. 

Similarly, 1 male, 1 child, 2 persons in Dhulikhel municipality, 3 persons including 1 male, 1 child, 1 female child in Banepa municipality, 3 persons including 1 female, 1 male and 1 female child in Bhumlu rural municipality. Jana, she informed that 1 woman died in Chaurideurali Rural Municipality.

According to him, details of human losses have not been received from Mahabharat Rural Municipality and Khanikhola Rural Municipality so far. The police informed that 78 people were injured and 5 were missing in Kavre due to floods and landslides.
