Foreign Minister Arju Rana Deuba has said that it is necessary to recognize the current turbulent situation and move towards sustainable peace. Addressing the Security Council, an important body of the United Nations (UN), Foreign Minister Rana said, "We need to recognize the turbulent situation and move towards lasting peace together."

In the high-level open debate of the Security Council titled 'Leadership for Peace: Respect for the United Nations Charter and United in Search of a Secure Future', Foreign Minister Rana said that there is a need for unity in the current Security Council (among the members) to solve the current problems and conflicts.

She said, "For fairness, equality, inclusiveness and justice, it has become mandatory for us to restructure the United Nations." Big or small, powerful or weak, rich or poor, we need a broadly representative, democratic, transparent, accountable Security Council. Who should write a role to increase the work of the UN effectively.'

She said that it is necessary to work through diplomacy, mediators and peace missions. 'We need regional organizations and international economic organizations to play a role in reducing conflict and creating an environment for peace,' Rana said, 'Leaders rise above the differences and You have to work towards the same goal . Which builds a secure future for all . While we are facing all these challenges, we have to fulfill unity, respect and responsibility.'

She also said that the world community is now in the most critical moment after the Second World War. She said, "We are seeing conflicts". There is a humanitarian crisis. The UN Charter, international law and human rights have been violated.'

Foreign Minister Rana made it clear that the peace and progress achieved with difficulty with the establishment of the UN has resulted in a humanitarian crisis due to geopolitics and competition. Our leadership is measured in adversity. Rules-based multilateralism, human rights and sustainable development are essential. With a strong political presence at the center of the UN, we should follow international laws and re-commit," she said.
