Ravi Lamichhane, chairman of RSVP and former home minister, has been claiming that he is not aware of the loan in his name from the cooperative, but the cooperative directors have said that Lamichhane is the debtor. Lamichhane, while giving a statement to the Parliamentary Investigation Special Committee on Cooperative Savings Misuse on August 7, said that he was not aware of the crores of money received in his name from Gorkha Media Network Pvt. He claimed that he had no involvement in the cooperative fraud. Lamichhane said that since he is not a director, share member or in any way affiliated with the cooperative, there is no question of money coming in his name.

In the 'Special Investigation Report on Misuse of Savings in Cooperative Organizations' published on Friday, it is mentioned that during the statement, Lamichhane was told the proof and membership number of Suryadarshan of Pokhara and Supreme Cooperative of Butwal. In response, Lamichhane said, "I don't have any account in the mentioned cooperatives." No application has been made for the account. I have no involvement and I am not a member of those two cooperatives.'

Lamichhane, who was the program director and managing director of Gorkha Media Network Pvt. Ltd. from January 1, 2077 to June 1, 2079, said that he did not ask for a loan from the cooperative and did not take it. He said that Gitendrababu (GB) Rai brought all the money that came to Gorkha media from individuals and organizations.

Aryal also said that he saw Lamichhane in a meeting when he went to work regularly at the GB Group of Companies in Lalitpur. Roshni Gurung, cashier of Supreme Cooperative in Butwal, has given a statement to the parliamentary committee that she opened an account in the name of Ravi Lamichhane as told by manager Sagar KC. Manager Sagar KC told me to open an account in the name of Ravi Lamichhane without filling up the form and put the address dot dot and give me the account number as soon as possible. I was told to write only dot dot instead of what to write in address, document, citizenship, contact number. Similar process was done in Chabilal Joshika. This type of account was also made by some other people,'' he said.

On the basis of the loan approved in the name of Lamichhane on March 18, 2077, 20 million was deposited in the account of Global IME Bank in the name of Gorkha Media, Gurung said that the manager worked as KC said.
