The Skoda Kayak in the SUV segment is now available in the Nepali market.

The company said that even as the automobile industry is gradually moving towards electrification, the well-engineered and practically designed ICE (Internal Combustion Engine) has further strengthened the attraction of customers towards this vehicle. 

This is clearly proven by the Skoda Kayak. Considered one of the most anticipated SUV launches of 2025, the Kayak is a significant achievement for Skoda, the company said. 

Designed with the rapidly expanding urban market in mind, this vehicle offers performance, safety, technology and ease of everyday use in a single balanced package, which is one of the most competitive segments in the region.

‘The response in Nepal has also been very positive. With strong interest seen in the initial phase and growing appreciation for its performance and usability, the Kayak has become one of the most talked-about launches of the year in a short time and it is easy to understand why,’ the company said in a statement. 

Proven before coming to Nepal  

The Kayak is not an unknown vehicle in Nepal. The company claims that even before entering Nepal, it had already achieved impressive success in one of the most challenging and competitive automobile markets in the world.

Its launch in India was met with extremely high demand, where bookings far exceeded initial expectations.

What makes the Kayak special is its genuine European engineering, which has been developed keeping in mind real road conditions.

At the heart of the Kayak is a TSI turbocharged petrol engine, which reflects Skoda’s long experience in internal combustion technology, the company said.

‘Rather than focusing solely on the headlines of high power, the engine has been tuned to deliver balanced and real-world performance that is agile in city traffic, stable on the highway and efficient throughout the journey,’ the statement said. 

This will provide performance suitable for everyone, from daily commuters to weekend users, the company said.

One of the strongest points of the Kayak is safety. The company says that more than 25 active and passive safety features are available across all variants.

‘It includes features like 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, traction control and multi-collision braking, which many competing vehicles usually offer only in higher variants,’ the statement said. 

This is why the Kayak has already received a five-star safety rating from India NCAP, which the company claims has established it as one of the safest SUVs in its segment.

Practicality embedded in the design
Practicality is reflected in every aspect of the Kayak. The company says that the flexible storage capacity is one of the best in this segment, with a boot capacity of about 446 liters, which can be expanded to about 1,265 liters when the rear seats are folded. The company says that smart storage solutions inside the cabin will make everyday use more convenient.  

‘With a ground clearance of around 189 mm, the Kayak can confidently traverse Nepal’s diverse road conditions without compromising on comfort,’ the statement said.

The official price of the Skoda Kayak in Nepal starts at Rs 4.59 million for the manual variant, the company claims, making it one of the most attractive price offers in its segment.
