Madhesh Province Chief Minister Saroj Kumar Yadav, who took oath at a hotel in Bardibas, Mahottari, before dawn on Monday morning, is staying at the hotel instead of going to the office.

He has been staying at the Janaki Star Hotel in Janakpur's Ramananda Chowk with some of his supporters since Monday afternoon. Chief Minister Yadav is holding a press conference in the same hotel shortly.

Yadav, who took oath from State Chief Sumitra Subedi Bhandari at Panas Cottage in Kalapani, Bardibas, had stopped by his home district of Mahottari throughout the day on Monday to congratulate him and visit temples.

The Madhesh Bhavan in Janakpur, the headquarters of the Madhesh State government, was tense throughout the day on Monday regarding Yadav's appointment.

Chief Minister Yadav reached the Madhesh Bhavan on Tuesday morning on foot. His aides said that Yadav had to stay at the hotel since he had not taken charge and former Chief Minister Jitendra Sonal was staying at the Chief Minister's residence.
