During the Gen-G movement, on August 24, 50 Indian prisoners escaped from 3 districts of Madhesh Pradesh. Those sentenced to imprisonment by the courts for murder, embezzlement, robbery, drugs, false cases, kidnapping and physical hostage and extortion cases have escaped.

Not a single prisoner escaped from Parsa, Sarlahi and Sirha prisons. There is no jail in Dhanusha and Bara. 

17 Indian prisoners escaped from Gaur Jail in Rautahat. 5 of them were arrested by the Indian Border Security Force and handed over to the Nepal Police. Jail chief Manish Jha informed that 12 people are still absconding. There were 291 prisoners in Gaur Jail. 264 of them broke the prison door and escaped. Now 86 people have been taken to jail by the police. Some were arrested, some came into contact themselves. District Police Chief SP Netramani Giri said that 178 more prisoners, including Indians, are being sought. 

Out of 39 Indian prisoners who escaped from Mahottari Jail, 4 people have been detained by the police. Mahottari Jail Administration said that 35 people are still absconding. They are jailed for various crimes. There were 576 prisoners in Mahottari Jail. 576  Jana escaped. The prison administration said that 198 prisoners have reached 198 under police control and those who have appeared themselves.

Out of the 5 Indian prisoners who escaped, 4 have been arrested. Among those who escaped from Saptari Jail, 5 are Indians. 2 of them have been arrested, 3 are still absconding. Out of 398 prisoners in Saptari Jail, 205 escaped. Out of them, 84 people have been found so far, informed SP Gautam Kumar Keshi of District Police Saptari. "We are still searching for a possible place," he said, "those who escaped are not at home." Saptari Frahari said that 9 people who escaped from Jhumka jail and 1 person who escaped from Nakkhu were arrested. 

Prisoners who escaped from Gaur Rautahat prison office have issued a notification that if they do not come in contact with each other, they will be sentenced to an additional 5 years imprisonment. The police published a notice this Tuesday and asked some of the prisoners who escaped from the prison on August 24 to come in contact with the nearest police office or prison office in Gaur. Section 49 of the Prison Act 2079 for those who escaped without contact. It is mentioned in the notification that the punishment prescribed as per (c) will be imprisonment for an additional 5 years.

Chait 3,2080 On Chait 3, Nitesh Sah, the owner of Shiv Money Transfer located in Paroha Municipality-9 Khapchok, who was arrested while running away, was arrested by the police, Munish alias Munish, Rajkumar Paswan alias Radha and Chandrabhan Singh alias Chunukumar Singh from Chainpur in Bihar, India, with 2 weapons and bullets. All three of them escaped by breaking the prison door under the guise of protest. Among them, Munif Kumar was arrested by the police from the border area.
