Due to the rain and flood last Friday and Saturday, the Bagmati irrigation project at Karmeya in Sarlahi has been damaged to the tune of 100.4 million.
Floods in Lalavkaiya, Lakhandehi, Bagmati, Chandi and Jhanj rivers have damaged the project.
Sarlahi and Rautahat districts are providing irrigation facilities to about 46,000 hectares of land. Anubhav Chaudhary, head of the division, said.
Bagmati barrage, barrage gate and below the paved surface and embankment, western main canal towards Rautahat and eastern main canal towards Sarlahi, branch canal, sub-branch canal, headworks and main and subsidiary roads connecting the dam and canal have been damaged by flood.
Chandi Saifan of western main canal towards Rautahat, Hazria branch under Manpur branch, Prempur branch, Mahmodpur branch, Laukaha branch under Bholhia branch, canal and dam of Jigangria branch have been damaged by flood.
Similarly, Chief Choudhary said that the Laxmipur branch of the East Main Canal towards Sarlahi, the Rfour section of the Gadaiya branch of the East Main Canal and the road were damaged.
The construction of the project started in the year 2035 and it was put into operation in the year 2050.
