Locals have demanded road facilities, quality education, and health security from the Nepali Communist Party (NCP) candidate and former Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal, who reached Nayagadh in Sisne Rural Municipality-2, Pwang for the first time during the election campaign.
Presenting a written demand letter to Dahal, who arrived here during the voter meeting and election rally, the locals have demanded that the road, which is currently not able to go beyond Deukhola of Puthauttarganga Rural Municipality-14, be developed and expanded as a road connecting Ward No. 2 of Sisne via Nayagadh to Ward No. 1 Sisne village and Dolpa, a road connecting Kharbang-Arjal to Maikot and Pelma from Nayagadh to Puthauttarganga-7 and 8, and a road connecting Dolpa from Sisne-3 Pokhara via Pwang-Sisne, former ward chair of Sisne-2, Jeevan KC informed.
The demand letter also demands a motorable bridge connecting Chumaija-Puma on the Sanibheri River in Sisne-2 and a motorable bridge connecting Kashtara-Manam at 7 and 8 of Puthauttarganga. In addition, the newly constructed building for the hospital in Nayagadh should be converted into a 5-bed hospital with specialist doctors, schools should be developed and expanded for quality education, and employment generation should be emphasized.
Giving further information about their demands, another local, Basanti Gharti, said that the locals had already provided land for the Area Police Office, but the building could not be built due to lack of budget, so that was also included in the demand letter. She added, "We presented these demands today through him (Pushpakamal Dahal). We have also drawn the attention of party candidates including UML and Congress, who have come to seek our votes before, to these issues."
Dahal said during his speech at the election rally that the locals had made the aforementioned demands and that he and his party would take full initiative to fulfill them. "The demands made by the people here regarding roads, education, and health security are absolutely justified. We will take the initiative to fulfill them. Because this is our responsibility.’
Even though road tracks have been opened in other parts of the district and vehicles are moving as much as possible, road facilities have not reached some wards, including Ward No. 1 and 2 of Sisne and Ward No. 7 and 8 of Puthauttar Gangaga. Due to which the daily life of the common people is difficult. This issue has become the main demand that the voters of this region put before the candidates.
