As the day has been foggy and cold, Ramgram Municipality in West Nawalparasi has distributed firewood at every corner.

Firewood has been distributed to city residents who have to go out of their homes for work due to the cold. Free firewood has been distributed to the city's main square, market area and crowded places, said Ramgram Municipality Chief Dhanpat Yadav.

Firewood has been distributed to public places in 18 wards of the city as it is convenient for daily wage earners and underprivileged locals to be able to light a fire in a public place.  The work has started after the meeting of the Local Disaster Management Committee decided to distribute firewood at crossroads and provide warm clothes to underprivileged citizens.  Ramgram Municipality had distributed firewood last year as well.

A cold wave has increased in eastern and western Nawalparasi. Due to this, vehicles are forced to drive with headlights on during the day due to fog on the main highway.  To beat the cold, ordinary people are sitting by the fire in tea shops and squares.
