Koshi Province Police Office Biratnagar has informed that due to the incessant rain in Koshi Province until Saturday evening, a lot of property has been lost.
According to the information received, 14 people died, 13 were injured and eight people went missing due to the incessant rains that fell from October 11th to 13th. Information officer Dahal said that among the dead, one person from Elam was swept away by the river and all the others died in landslides. According to him, information officer of Koshi Province Police Office Bhim Bahadur Dahal informed that four of the missing persons were swept away by the landslide and four by the river.
Due to incessant rain, 14 people have died in Ilam, five in Panchthar, one in Udaipur and five in Solukhumbu. Similarly, 13 people were injured in Jhapa, 5 in Panchthar, 2 in Dhankuta, 1 in Terhathum and 1 in Khotang. Two from Jhapa, five from Panchthar, one from Morang are said to be missing.
In the same period, 1,650 people from 409 families have been moved to safe places due to the flood, while the number of houses and offices at high risk is 1,920 and 59 roads are blocked, Information Officer Dahal said.
Similarly, three hundred and four houses have been affected in Jhapa, one hundred and twenty in Morang, 49 in Sunsari, 23 in Dhankuta, 11 in Tehrathum and 21 in Udaipur. Police said that 523 families in Jhapa, 487 in Morang, 358 in Sunsari and 199 in Khotang have been moved to safe places.
One thousand and 92 security personnel were mobilized throughout the province to prevent further damage to the citizens who were affected by floods and landslides. In this process, 34 people trapped in flood in Barahkshetra Municipality-6 and 9 of Sunsari were rescued.
Similarly, 64 dead, one injured and 1,206 dead on the four-legged side. In terms of physical structures, 19 concrete houses were completely damaged, 58 were partially damaged and 39 were completely damaged, 33 were partially damaged and 13 sheds, six government offices, four vehicles, 13 bridges and culverts were damaged and 542 households were affected. ;
